Three phase diode rectifier with Resistive and Inductive load.

Lab Title: Three phase diode rectifier with Resistive and Inductive load.
Objective:  Objective is to to Get knowledge about the process of three phase rectification.
Apparatus:
       i.            Power diode
     ii.            3 φ supply
  iii.            Resisters (220 ohm)
  iv.            Inductor (0.8H)
     v.            Voltmeters and Ammeters
  vi.            Connection cables
vii.             LV-DEC software for analysis.

Introduction:
The process of converting alternating voltage to direct voltage at the output is known as rectification.We are using three diodes in this process of rectification.Each diode is for each of the phase of 3-phase power supply.We also use the resistive load first and the inductive load.
Relation between average and 3-phase peak voltage:
Vavg =
Vavg = 1.654
Relation between RMS and 3-phase peak voltage:
Vrms=
Vrms = 1.655

Procedure:
·         First of all install the power supply, the resistive loads, the DC voltmeter/ammeter and the power diodes module in the workstation.
·        Make sure that the main power switch of the power supply is set to 0. Set the voltage control knob to 0. Connect the power supply to a three-phase wall receptacle.
·        Plug the Power supply line cord into a wall receptacle.  Set the rocker switch of the power supply to the 1(on position).
·        Make sure that the toggle switches on the resistive Load are all set to the 0.
·        In the last observe the three phase waveform, and measure the output parameters.
Precautions:
1.     Make sure that the main power switch of the power supply is set to the 0 (OFF) Position.
2.     Make the circuit neat and clean.
3.     Make sure that the toggle switches on the resistive load are all set to the 0 (open) positions.
4.     Take the reading very carefully.

Conclusion:
We havel learned about  the process of  3-phase rectification using power diodes.In this case the output voltage increases along with frequency.The eficiency of the system also increases in this case.
