Embedded Processor and Microcontrollers

Title : (i)  Embedded Processor and Microcontrollers
           (ii) To Introduce keypad of MTS-86C Microprocessor Trainer
Objectives:  To get familiar with Processor, microcontroller practically
                            Build in MTS-86c trainer.
Procedures:
A microprocessor is the central processing unit of a computer constructed
With in  a single chip. To make a complete microprocessor it needs to be
Connected to
·        Memory to store data.
·        RAM
·        ROM
·        I/O
·        Control circuit.
Serial Port:  RS232, USB port, Ps2
Types of Microprocessor:
(i)                Specific Microprocessor
(ii)             General Purpose Microprocessor
Difference b/w Microprocessor and Microcontroller:

Microprocessor consume more power as compare to Microcontroller.
Speed of Microprocessor in higher than Microcontroller.
Its size is less than Microcontroller.
Microprocessor cannot work independently.
Functions of Keypad MTS-86c:
EB = Examine Byte,   Ax= Accumulator, ER= Examine Register
Bx= Base Register, Go = command, CX= count Register
ST= Single step, DX= Data Register, IB= Input byte
SP= State pointer, OB= O/P byte, BP= Base Pointer
Mv= move, SI= sorce index, Ew= Examine word
DI= Destination index, CS= Code Segment, Ow= O/P word
Ds= Data segment, SS= State segment, Es= Extra Segment
IP= Instruction Pointer , FL= Flag Register.
->Examining and Modifying contents of memory address:
Seg: offset
è      Press 0 ( Examine byte)
è      Press 1(0000:0001)
è      Press 0(0000:0010)
è      Again Press 0(0000:0100)
è      Using (:) seg and offset become same
è      Press 5 (0100:0005)
è      Press , again to get (0100:0007)
è      , = to see saved data
è      Press dot to save data
Storing Data on Register:

Press 1  ( Examine Register)
Press 2 (Go Command)
Edit, Then Press . To save.
Then Press reset to see stored data.
