Introduction:
We are
using 3-phase supply with six diodes. Two diodes will be active during each
phase input. For three phase 360 degree sinusoidal signal ,during interval 0-30
D3 and D5 will be active.In interval 30-90 D1 and D5 will be forward
biased.During 90-150 D1 and D6 are forward biased.D2 and D6 are active during
150-210 interval.D2 and D4 are active during 210-270 interval.D3 and D4 shows
conduction in interval 270-330.In interval 330-360 D3 and D5 will show
conduction.
Procedure:
·
Install the power supply,
the resistive loads, the DC voltmeter/ammeter and the power diodes module in
the workstation.
·
Make sure that the main
power switch of the power supply is set to 0. Set the voltage control knob to
0. Connect the power supply to a three-phase wall receptacle.
·
Plug the Power supply line
cord into a wall receptacle. Set the
rocker switch of the power supply to the 1(on position).
·
Make sure that the toggle
switches on the resistive Load are all set to the 0.
·
In the last observe the
three phase waveform, and measure the output parameters.

Conclusion:
In this lab,we see that using 3-phase
rectifier we are going towards more efficiency and output current becomes more
smooth. Our aim is to achieve more efficient and stable system and we do this by
using just simple power diodes.
